Wright will not count against the team’s roster while he is away. The Bengals placed him on the exempt/left squad list. He remains eligible to return once production ends.

Coach Zac Taylor addressed the move after Wright called the team Friday night.

“I know it was a difficult decision for him,” Taylor said. “I think two things he’s really passionate about were colliding, and he decided to pursue this opportunity.”

Taylor called Wright a great kid from a strong university. He praised the cornerback as fun to be around and a hard competitor.

“I thought he was ascending as a player,” the coach added.

Ceyair Wright Balances Football and Acting Background

Ceyair Wright already owns acting credits before this latest opportunity. He appeared in Space Jam: A New Legacy in 2021. In that film, he played one of LeBron James’ sons.

He also balanced acting work during his college years. Wright started at USC before transferring to Nebraska. He earned honorable-mention All-Big Ten honors in his final season.

The undrafted free agent signed with Cincinnati after the draft. He competed hard in camp and showed promise in the secondary. Still, roster spots remain limited for undrafted players.

This decision allows him to chase a rare Hollywood chance without fully closing the door on football. Sources indicate he is not giving up the game. He plans to stay available once filming finishes.
