Cleveland Browns’ latest move could show they are keeping the door open to making a huge NFL draft trade

The Cleveland Browns are keeping all of their options open with the most important position in the sport.

Cleveland has to find what they hope is a quarterback of the future in the draft. On the other hand, they still need to sign a veteran quarterback. Another option came off of the table on Tuesday when Russell Wilson decided to sign with the New York Giants.

To this point, Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders has been most connected to the Browns. A lot of the reason is that all signs point to the Tennessee Titans taking Miami QB Cam Ward with the No. 1 overall pick.

Cleveland’s latest move shows they believe Cam Ward is still on the table

A recent report revealed that the Browns sent owner Jimmy Haslam, GM Andrew Berry, and HC Kevin Stefanski to meet with the Miami quarterback. Additionally, Ward underwent a private workout with the team in Miami.

Again, the Titans are the heavy favorite to take Ward, unless it turns out to be a big smokescreen. A trade up to No. 1 could be on the table for the Browns and it may be what it takes to land Ward. The Miami quarterback offers the highest ceiling in the draft and he’s QB1 by a large margin. It may take a big haul for the Titans to move off of the No. 1 pick and the rights to Ward when all is said and done.

Cleveland did not have Haslam, Berry, or Stefanski in attendance at the Miami Pro Day, but it appears that choice was made knowing they’d be meeting with him.

Now that we are nearing April, things are going to be all over the place in terms of possible draft outcomes. Cleveland has to keep all options open and taking a quarterback at No. 2 should be the favorite at this point.
