Cleveland Browns superstar pass rusher Myles Garrett, just like many others on Sunday night, had his attention on Game 7 of the 2025 NBA Finals between the Indiana Pacers and the Oklahoma City Thunder. Oklahoma City had a chance to finish the series in Game 6, but Tyrese Haliburton and company simply refused to go down in front of their home crowd, thus forcing a winner-take-all battle at Paycom Center.

Haliburton, however, failed to finish Game 7, as he sustained a painful lower-body injury in the opening quarter. He was later ruled out for the rest of Game 7, leaving his team without its main offensive orchestrator.

Haliburton’s injury draws reaction from Cleveland Browns’ Garrett

After Haliburton sustained the injury, many felt emotional for him, especially given how big of a game it was. The former Iowa State Cyclones star writhed in pain on the floor before being taken off the court and into the locker room, where he would spend the remainder of the contest.

“Heat breaks for @tyresehaliburton..went out on his shield. Nothing but respect,” shared Garrett in a post via Instagram story.

Without Haliburton, the Pacers’ offense did not quite had the same fluidity it had when he was having a great start to Game 7. Before his injury, Haliburton scored nine points, all from behind the arc.

If anything, Haliburton can still be an inspiration to his fellow pro athletes, as he gave it his and showed up in Game 7 despite knowing the risk of suffering such an injury. He had been dealing with a calf issue for games before Sunday’s meeting with the Thunder, but that did not stop him from trying to help his team on the floor.
