The Cleveland Browns shocked the NFL world in Week 3 when they took down the Green Bay Packers at home. Cleveland’s defense put together another great outing and the offense and special teams came alive right late in the game to make it happen. Now, the Browns will be heading into another tough game against an NFC North opponent with a road trip to play the Detroit Lions.
Cleveland took a tough loss against the Packers when OT Dawand Jones went down with a knee injury that ended his season. It was the first game that the Browns moved Jones back to right tackle this season from the left side, and now he’s lost for the third season in a row. The Browns placed Jones on the Injured Reserve on Wednesday ending his season.
With Jones going to the IR, it only made sense for the Browns to add another offensive tackle. RT Jack Conklin has missed the last two games against the Baltimore Ravens and the Packers and Cleveland hopes to have him back against the Lions. Cleveland signed OT Thayer Munford off of the New England Patriots’ Practice Squad to help their depth. Munford is a former seventh-round pick of the 2022 NFL Draft by the Las Vegas Raiders.
we've signed T Thayer Munford Jr. to the active roster from New England’s practice squad, and placed T Dawand Jones on injured reserve

Munford spent three seasons with the Raiders and played in 46 games with 18 starts during that time. Cleveland is giving Munford No. 64 after he spent the first few games of this season with the Patriots on their practice squad. Another big tackle at 6-foot-5 and 354 pounds, Munford played high school ball at nearby Massillon Washington before going to Ohio State. Munford spent five seasons at Ohio State from 2017-2021 and was a four-year starter for the Buckeyes.
Cleveland is going to roll with Conklin at right tackle as long as he’s healthy and Cornelius Lucas is the left tackle. The Browns traded a seventh-round pick to the Los Angeles Rams for KT Leveston and he is the third tackle for the Browns now. Injuries haven’t been great for the Browns so far from training camp into the regular season and losing Jones was another blow because he was a player they were hoping could take a step.
