The offensive snap counts for the season so far. Each week I will update this chart with the game-by-game breakdown as well as information on how many players from each position play. The numbers next to each position is how many of that position played per snap. Green is a starter, yellow is a practice squad elevation, red is inactive, and blue shows they weren't on the 53-man roster.
Quarterback - While Watson struggled, when Sanders came in he also struggled, with a massive 3.75 seconds time to throw. Across the season Watson has had a good knack for breaking the pocket and running, the Steelers shut this down and this lead to several sacks.
Running Back/Fullback - While it is a small sample, the pass blocking is good by Burton and Sampson, but lacking with the others. After a good week running last week, Sampson returned to a single rush. Both did a good job as always receiving.
Wide Receiver - After four weeks with three plus targets Jeudy had just one in this game. This was probably the first game this season where none of the wide receivers had a good game.
Tight End - Fannin had a poor start with the fumble but after that he had a fantastic day. It was only the second game he had crossed 100 yards, with a massive 154.
Offensive Line - It was a rough game for the offensive line. Tytus Howard had the best day of the entire line. It will be interesting to see once the game is fully graded, who is most responsible for the sacks between the quarterback and line.
The defensive snap counts for the season so far.
Edge Defender - Jared Verse will get a lot of blow back after this game. He has spent the week talking lots and continues to do very little to deliver. If they were to add an edge at the trade deadline, it feels like Derek Barnett would be the replacements after a strong start to the season.
Defensive Tackle - Yet again, all of their defensive tackles continue delivering. We won't see the best of Graham until after the bye but it is better than what Kamara was doing, even though he out performed expectations. Unsurprisingly, tackling is the area they most need to improve on.
Linebacker - Couple of times Schwesinger had issues in coverage, but it is tough covering a player the size of Washington.
Cornerback - Their cornerback tandem were great, despite the issues with his hand Ward caught another interception. Blackmon continues to be a great pickup, he did well filling in. It isn't going to be the hardest day for cornerbacks when playing a team really short on wide receivers.
Safety - Hickman continues to be on a really nice run of games but overall the safeties underwhelmed. Their usage was up but that is due to the heavier sets the Steelers were running.
