Colin Cowherd campaigns for Packers to sign Odell Beckham Jr.

Wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and Green Bay Packers star quarterback Aaron Rodgers have recently publicly flirted with each other. One sports personality thinks it's about time they make their relationship official.

Per Chris Rosvoglou of The Spun, Colin Cowherd campaigned during Wednesday's edition of "The Herd with Colin Cowherd" program for the Packers to sign Beckham.

"It's a position of need. You're not a Super Bowl team if Romeo Doubs is your go-to No. 1," Cowherd explained during a segment. "Because he's not a No. 1 - right now he's a talented No. 3, maybe a No. 2 [wide receiver]. Odell Beckham is a veteran receiver - Aaron doesn't teach him how to run routes or be big in big games."

As noted by ESPN stats, the previously mentioned Doubs, a rookie and fourth-round draft selection, ended Week 4 leading the Packers with 19 catches for 184 yards and a pair of touchdowns on the season.

Meanwhile, Rodgers made it known during a Tuesday appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show" he's keen on throwing passes to OBJ at some point down the road.

"Odell and I have been friends for a number of years now," Rodgers remarked at that time. "So, we keep in contact often, we’ve talked at various times over the years and obviously with a player like that, you’re always hoping that there’s a time where you can figure things out and play together. But he’s a special talent and I was really happy for him to see how they used him in L.A. and for him to get a ring. Obviously, he was dominating the game to start that game until the injury."

Beckham is still recovering from the torn anterior cruciate ligament that he suffered while featuring for the Los Angeles Rams in the Super Bowl LVI victory over the Cincinnati Bengals and has been linked with a return to the Rams since the winter months. Bleacher Report's Scott Polacek recently shared that Beckham is not expected to be cleared to return to action until some point in November at the earliest.
