T.J. Watt 's record-breaking contract extension could spell doom for the Dallas Cowboys, according to Colin Cowherd.
On Friday's episode of his FOX Sports radio show, the syndicated sports talk host broke down why he feels the Cowboys are now "trapped " because of the Steelers' new deal when it comes to All-Pro Micah Parsons.
"The Cowboys tend to wait, and wait, and wait. So now Dallas is trapped. ... If I was Micah Parsons and I was Micah Parsons' agent I'd want 85% of T.J. Watt's [contract]. If T.J. Watt's getting $41 million, Micah's gotta $37.5 or $38 [million]. He's also four years younger," Cowherd argued.

"The Cowboys are going to pay Dak [Prescott] top of the market, CeeDee Lamb top of the market— they already are — now they're going to have Micah top of the market. Do I think Micah Parsons is worth that? No I don't," the FS1 personality continued.
"But Dallas is trapped because Jerry [Jones] has too much influence on the draft, they haven't drafted particularly well and the Cowboys roster is so top-heavy and so ordinary Dallas can't [move off stars]."
The Cowboys have kicked the can down the road on many of their big contracts only to pay 120 cents on the dollar for what they could've had much cheaper if they locked up deals sooner.
That seems to be the way Jerry Jones likes to do business these days and its likely part of why they haven't sniffed an NFC Championship Game or Super Bowl in three decades.
Cowherd also floated the idea of Dallas hiring Nick Saban earlier this week — someone he believes could overcome the disfunction that's been at The Star in Frisco in recent years.
