The Indianapolis Colts faced the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.

They came in with an 8-2 record, looking to knock off one of the most dominant teams in NFL history. The Chiefs have reached the Super Bowl in five of the last six seasons.

Quarterback Daniel Jones has been a pleasant surprise for the Colts this season. Indianapolis went 8-9 last season and signed Jones as a free agent this past offseason.

He's taken the Colts offense to new heights so far.

In the 23-20 loss to Kansas City, he threw for just 181 yards but still managed to toss two touchdowns.

Jones entered the Chiefs game with what the Colts called a calf injury. After getting further evaluated, they determined it was a fibula injury.

Jones played through it, but on Wednesday, he popped up on the injury report again ahead of the Colts' meeting with the Houston Texans.

Jones participated in practice but was limited.

Jones is in his seventh season in the NFL after being drafted by the New York Giants in 2019. He was selected sixth overall and led the Giants to the playoffs in 2022.

Jones was released last season by the Giants and spent the second half of the year with the Minnesota Vikings.

The Colts (8-3) will look to bounce back from Sunday's loss and maintain their place atop the AFC South when they host the Texans (6-5) on Sunday. Houston has won three straight to climb back into the division race.
