The Indianapolis Colts had all eyes on them during training camp as a quarterback battle between Anthony Richardson and Daniel Jones took place. After a rollercoaster season last year from Richardson, the Colts signed Jones during the offseason to give themselves some more viable options on who would be the starting quarterback for the team this season.

In the end, it was Jones who won as he was announced as the starter for Week 1 against the Miami Dolphins. That leaves Richardson, who the Colts selected with the No. 4 pick in the 2023 draft, on the outside looking in.

Jones and Richardson have both had their struggles in the NFL, and there's a chance that neither is a long-term solution for the Colts. If that's the case, ESPN's Dan Graziano made a prediction that they could go after Kirk Cousins.

"It's tough to forecast the path, since a poor season by the Colts could lead to changes among the decision-makers as well as the quarterbacks," Graziano wrote. "But they'd need a long-term solution, so the Colts would likely prefer to use the draft to find a new QB. If they needed a veteran placeholder, perhaps they could go for someone like Kirk Cousins — assuming the Falcons let him go this time."

The Falcons could release Cousins next season and not take much of a financial hit, as most of the money in his four-year, $180 million contract was guaranteed in the first two seasons. If that's what the Falcons do, the Colts should definitely be interested, depending on what direction they go in. Cousins may still have some game left, and he could be a safe option for a team looking for a quarterback.
