Sports fans and organizations tend to have the mindset of “What have you done for me lately?”

This is especially true in the NFL where in the matter of a week you can go from having your starting spot secured to potentially never starting again.

It may not be quite that extreme, but that is the dilemma currently facing Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson.

He was drafted as a project with the fourth overall pick in 2023, but just two years later his luster within the organization is wearing off.

After a disastrous sophomore campaign, the front office has brought in competition to compete for the starting job.

Indianapolis decided to sign former New York Giants signal caller Daniel Jones who hasn’t had much success himself.

The Colts are willing to let him start if push comes to shove but they are really hoping that the camp battle will push Richardson to the next level in his development.

Bleacher Report’s Gary Davenport recently listed eight NFL players with the most on the line this season and Richardson was at the top of the list.

He had a stellar rookie season, but as we know this is a “What have you done for me lately” league and lately the former Florida quarterback has been massively disappointing.

The team is still holding out hope for his development, but he will need to make large strides quick or he could be out of Indianapolis soon.

Training camp is set to open in a couple months so there should be concrete updates about the competition soon.
