The Indianapolis Colts fans, community, and the team as a whole are still mourning the death of late owner Jim Irsay, who passed away this offseason. The team has already unveiled a patch that will appear on their jerseys this season and is preparing to induct Mr. Irsay into the team's Ring of Honor during halftime of their season opener.
It seems the team's new ownership, Jim's three daughters, has at least one more plan up its sleeve to honor Irsay's legacy. They have unveiled Jim Irsay Street in downtown Indianapolis outside of the Lucas Oil Stadium. A stadium many have coined as the stadium Peyton Manning built, but we should probably also start to include Jim Irsay as the architect.

Via the image posted, the street seems to be replacing Capital Avenue. This is outside of the Verizon Gate of the stadium. It is unknown at this time whether Jim Irsay Street is a temporary designation or a permanent change adopted by the city of Indianapolis. Either way, this seems like a fantastic way for the team and the city to pay homage to the man who gave so much to them.
Fans can now add this to their list of potential stops during game days. Starting this Sunday, September 7, for their Week 1 matchup vs. the Dolphins. The first Colts game in a lot of fans' lives without Mr. Irsay here. The new era of Colts football begins this Sunday with Jim's three daughters taking over the reins and hopefully leading the team into years full of success that fans and, more importantly, Jim would be proud of.
