The Washington Commanders are preparing for a Week 4 tilt on the road at the Atlanta Falcons. Washington has gotten off to a 2-1 start following their 41-24 win over the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 3.

The biggest question for Dan Quinn's Commanders is the status of their quarterback. Second-year signal-caller Jayden Daniels missed the Week 3 game with a knee sprain and has been considered day to day.

Daniels did not practice at all following the Week 2 loss to the Green Bay Packers when he was injured.

His status shifted a bit on Wednesday. Adam Schefter reported that Daniels would practice on a limited basis with the Commanders.

This update came from head coach Dan Quinn. Quinn also talked about one of Daniels' top targets, Terry McLaurin. The wide receiver will not practice as he deals with a quad injury suffered in the Week 3 game.

Daniels is in his second season with Washington after being selected with the second overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. The 24-year-old played 17 games as a rookie, completing 69 percent of his passes for more than 3,560 yards and 25 touchdowns, while throwing just nine interceptions.

So far in two games this season, Daniels is 43-of-72 passing for 433 yards with three touchdowns. He has yet to throw an interception or lose a fumble.

Washington is also dealing with the loss of running back Austin Ekeler, who will miss the rest of the season with an Achilles injury.

Marcus Mariota started in Week 3 and completed 15 of 21 passes for a touchdown. The veteran also ran the ball six times for 40 yards and a score. Jeremy McNichols, Chris Rodriguez Jr., Jacory Crosket-Merritt, and Deebo Samuel combined for 26 carries, 161 yards, and two touchdowns.

The Commanders will play back-to-back road games, as after they leave Atlanta, they will head to Los Angeles for a Week 5 matchup against the Chargers. Their next home game is Monday Night Football in Week 6 against the Chicago Bears.
