Commanders Announce Terry McLaurin Development on Thursday

Terry McLaurin and the 3-8 Washington Commanders face the 9-2 Denver Broncos in Week 13 on "Sunday Night Football." They're looking to break a six-game losing streak after their most recent loss to the Miami Dolphins.

The team has been without McLaurin since re-aggravating a quad injury in Washington's Week 8 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. He's already missed a total of eight games this season.

At 3-8, the Commanders sit in third place in the NFC East and are trending toward missing the playoffs after losing in the NFC Championship Game last year. However, playing the Broncos provides an opportunity to beat one of the NFL's top teams.

Washington revealed its first injury report of Week 13 on Wednesday, listing the 30-year-old wide receiver as a limited participant.

On Thursday, the Commanders announced an updated injury report, upgrading McLaurin to a full participant. It's a step in the right direction before needing to announce his game status on Friday.

In four games this season, McLaurin has hauled in 13 receptions for 203 yards and one touchdown on 21 targets. One of his best performances came against the Chiefs, scoring one touchdown as well as having three receptions for 54 yards.

He's a key piece to the team's offense. Before the season started, head coach Dan Quinn praised the wide receiver, saying, "First word that comes to mind with him when I think of him is, this is an awesome competitor. At his core, that's who he is and that's what I think of."

Unfortunately, quarterback Jayden Daniels is unlikely to be active against Denver, according to the team's senior writer Zach Selby. However, potentially having McLaurin back is a big boost going against Denver's defense, which ranks third in points per game allowed (17.5).

Whether or not McLaurin is active does not have to be announced until 90 minutes before kickoff. The game is scheduled to start at 8:20 p.m. ET at Northwest Stadium, airing on NBC.
