Jayden Daniels has surpassed almost every expectation this season. The Washington Commanders' quarterback is having one of the best rookie quarterback seasons in NFL history and is one more upset from leading his team to the Super Bowl.

But this week he accomplished something almost equally impressive. He was compared to Tiger Woods, by none other than Tom Brady.

Daniels, who will almost assuredly will win Offensive Rookie of the Year, will guide his upstart Commanders against the Philadelphia Eagles in Sunday's NFC Championship Game at Lincoln Financial Field. His journey has been equally as impressive as his potential destination.

The latest debate about the dual-threat Daniels is whether he is the best rookie quarterback in league history.

"Even though Jayden Daniels is just a rookie, he has that poise and confidence," Brady said on this week's episode of his Let's Go! podcast. "Look at a young Tiger Woods. He had never proven on the big stage that he was ready for the big moments at the Masters in '97. But he proved that to himself in all those junior amateurs that he won. He didn't care who he was playing. It was him versus him."

Woods was just 21 years old when he won the 1997 Masters by a whopping 12 strokes. Daniels, who won college football's Heisman Trophy in 2023, turned 24 in December.

Daniels has outplayed every quarterback in the playoffs in leading the Commanders to road wins over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and No. 1-seeded Detroit Lions. He has thrown for 327 yards per game with four touchdowns and no interceptions, better numbers than put up by the Buffalo Bills' Josh Allen (232, 2-0), Philadelphia Eagles' Jalen Hurts (182, 2-0) and Patrick Mahomes (191, 1-0).
