It's been a tough start to the season for several quarterbacks, and multiple teams are already dealing with major injuries less than one month into the regular season.
Once again, that's the case with the Washington Commanders, who lost Jayden Daniels to an elbow injury in the loss to the Dallas Cowboys.
Given the gruesome injury and Daniels' injury history, it looked like the Commanders' quarterback was looking at another extended absence.
However, NFL insider Ian Rapoport reports there's still a chance he won't have to miss much time.
“Daniels is dealing with a dislocated left elbow, the second time in a couple years this has happened,” Rapoport said on "Good Morning Football." “He has been soliciting opinions from experts.”
Of course, while that doesn't necessarily mean he's in the clear, the fact that he hasn't been placed on injured reserve gives the team and the fans a glimmer of hope.
“Going to have to come to a decision late this week, and really, it’s going to be this — does he go on injured reserve or not?” added Rapoport. “If he does go on injured reserve, he’s out four games. If he does not, then the thought is he could come back a little earlier than that.”

That said, Daniels has only been in the league for three years, and he's already missed time in every season.
There were major doubts about his lanky frame and reckless play, and so far, he hasn't been able to stay on the field.
So, even if Daniels doesn't miss time, the Commanders may have no choice but to have some uncomfortable conversations about his future with the organization.
