Commanders Offensive Weapons Get Surprising Ranking

The Washington Commanders, with Jayden Daniels steering the ship last season, put up points for fun and looked good doing it.

That all accumulated in an NFC Championship appearance, and this offseason, the franchise doubled down on last year's success.

Deebo Samuel and Laremy Tunsil were signed to give Daniels two upgrades at crucial positions, with offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury now having an embarrassment of riches to work with in 2025.

Some have the Commanders reaching the Super Bowl in Daniels' second season, with the offense a big reason why, but is the unit actually one of the best in football?

Bleacher Report has them ranked seventh.

"Two major offseason acquisitions can change the complexion of Washington's offense and elevate even higher than this ranking," Bleacher Report writes. "Washington traded a fifth-round draft pick to the San Francisco 49ers for Deebo Samuel, who will add a play-making presence to the Commanders' group of wide receivers.

"Also, five-time Pro Bowl left tackle Laremy Tunsil joined the squad in a trade from the Houston Texans. Tunsil immediately solidifies the entire offensive line as Washington's new anchor at a premium position. The time for Washington to strike is now, while Daniels remains on his rookie contract."

Washington's offense's success hinges on Tunsil and Samuel performing at the levels we know they can.

Tunsil is a five-time Pro Bowler, and Samuel is an All-Pro, although he is coming off a down year by his lofty standards.

If both trades "hit" then the Commanders are in business with the other weapons at Daniels' disposal, Kingsbury's unit will be tough to stop when it gets rolling.

Of course, most of this is predicated on Daniels continuing his ascension, and if he can, we imagine that by season's end, Washington's offense could be ranked far higher than seventh.
