The Washington Commanders' biggest roster hole this offseason was pass rusher; well, now general manager Adam Peters has fixed it.
Per NFL Network's Tom Pelissero , the Commanders are signing two-time Super Bowl champion Von Miller.
That is a big addition to a defensive line that was in desperate need of some pass rush help after Dante Fowler Jr. was allowed to walk out the door after leading Washington in sacks last season.
Now Joe Whitt Jr. gets Miller through the doors, and the defense takes on a whole new life with the eight-time Pro Bowler coming to the NFC East.
Miller has spent the last three seasons with the Buffalo Bills, and last season, from his 13 games, produced six sacks, eight quarterback hits, and seven tackles for loss. Not one to be on the field for every down anymore, but Miller still possesses the ability to produce a sack when it is needed most.
It is the latest move that suggests the Commanders are going all-in on the 2025 season after the signings of Deebo Samuel and Laremy Tunsil, and now Miller comes to the nation's capital looking to give the defense a little extra bite.
Dan Quinn and the Commanders now might feel a little more at ease over their pass rush, as it was beginning to look like a serious weak spot on the roster. Now, with Miller in the ranks, despite his age, he'll command attention wherever he lines up, and Whitt Jr. gets a star along his defensive line.
Make no mistake about it, Washington is going for glory in 2025.
