Not so long ago, Tyreek Hill was considered one of the most dangerous offensive weapons in the National Football League.
Thinking the former Miami Dolphins star would be a free agent this deep into the offseason seemed almost impossible just last season.
However, after suffering a dislocated left knee and tearing multiple ligaments last season, his career took a massive turn.
There has been little to no reported interest in his services, and that may not change any time soon. In a recent chat with Josh Moser, Hill's agent Drew Rosenhaus admitted he's still not close to full strength.
“Right now, he’s still in the midst of a rigorous recovery and rehab. There really isn’t a set timetable on when he’s going to be ready to go. And, when that takes place is less important than the fact that he does come all the way back,” his agent said.
Hill was known for his shiftiness, speed and acceleration. His explosiveness made him a perennial big-play threat.
However, he's never been big or physical, and this injury could severely limit his mobility. Add his constant off-field scandals to the mix, and it's easy to understand why teams might hesitate to reach out to him.
Multiple teams could benefit from an experienced pass catcher, including the Kansas City Chiefs.
That said, it doesn't sound like he'll be back on the field any time soon. And he might have to wait until after training camp for a team to give him an opportunity.
