Congratulations Pour In for Travis Hunter’s Mom Following Big Personal News

Ferrante Edmonds, mother of Jacksonville Jaguars rookie Travis Hunter, posted a video on Instagram showing her son leaving the hospital with his newborn baby.

The moment marked a major personal milestone for Hunter, who just days earlier made his NFL debut as a two-way player in Jacksonville’s 26–10 win over the Carolina Panthers.

Hunter, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft and last year's Heisman Trophy winner, has been one of the most closely watched rookies and in Week 1, played 45 total snaps: 39 on offense and six on defense.

Edmonds' caption on Friday's post read: "wwwwww! G-Ma bundle of joy!! Glory! Hallelujah!! #grandparents #fyp #trustgod #travishunter."

Fans were quick to show their support for Hunter and Edmonds.

Hunter and his wife, Leanna Lenee, welcomed their first child, a baby boy, just days before the season opener. The couple documented the journey in a YouTube video titled "Dear Son…," which included footage from the pregnancy, ultrasound appointments and the birth itself.

Hunter and Lenee met at Collins High School in Suwanee, Georgia, and dated throughout his college career at Jackson State and Colorado. They got engaged in February 2024 and were married in May 2025, shortly after Hunter was drafted.

The couple has not publicly shared the baby’s name or exact birth date, but Lenee posted a TikTok video of Hunter bringing the baby home from the NICU on Thursday.
