The Los Angeles Rams' ended their 2024-25 season with a bitter taste in their mouths after falling short against the Philadelphia Eagles in the divisional round of the playoffs.
The loss hasn't stopped Samuel Snead from jumping straight into the team's offseason, though, kicking things off with a surprising bang involving one of his best players.
Super Bowl LVI MVP Cooper Kupp took to X to announce that the Rams are "seeking a trade immediately" to move the wide receiver this offseason. Kupp went on to express his surprise and opinion on the decision, saying "I don't agree with the decision and always believed it was going to begin and end in LA."Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp (10) prior to a game against the Arizona Cardinals at State Farm Stadium.
After breaking out in 2019 with 94 catches for 1,161 yards, Kupp became the unquestioned WR1 for the Rams, quickly becoming one of the best at his position in the NFL. He has led the team in catches in four of the last six seasons, including his Offensive Player of the Year season in 2021, where he caught 145 passes for 1,947 yards and 16 touchdowns for the Rams en route to a Super Bowl win.
Kupp battled an ankle injury throughout the 2024 season, but told fans and potential trade destinations on X that he is "highly motivated and healthier than ever." Despite being in the latter half of his career at 31, there will no doubt be plenty of teams inquiring about what it will take to obtain his services.
Many teams around the NFL will be hunting for new premier receivers this offseason, including the Pittsburgh Steelers, Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens, amongst others. Expect Kupp to fetch a high price from a contender this season as they hope he can return to his 2021 form and bring their receiver room to another level.
