Cooper Kupp credits Odell Beckham Jr. for 'unbelievable job' learning Rams' offense

By all accounts, star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has been a model citizen and teammate since joining the Los Angeles Rams in November following his much-publicized and dramatic departure from the Cleveland Browns earlier that same month.

Across eight regular-season games with the Rams, Beckham notched 27 receptions for 305 yards and five touchdowns, and the 29-year-old has added 19 catches for 236 yards and a score during three postseason contests ahead of his first Super Bowl appearance.

Beckham and others spoke with reporters during Monday's Super Bowl LVI media availability ahead of this coming Sunday's matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals, and All-Pro receiver Cooper Kupp praised his teammate as a key contributor for the reigning NFC champions.

"[Y]ou’re really in a spot where Odell is now in a very expedited process of trying to get him integrated into what we need to do and try to learn this offense in the season without being able to have as many reps as you do [when] you go through training camp, you go through OTAs," Kupp said of OBJ, per Myles Simmons of Pro Football Talk. "You have all those opportunities to get reps and he didn’t have any of that. So he had to do a lot of this stuff mentally, just on his own, learning our play calls, our formations, all this different stuff — all the nuance and detail that it takes to be good in this offense. He’s just done an unbelievable job of that.

"For him to do what he’s doing, for him to be producing the way he has been, it speaks volumes to the player that he is, the teammate that he is, the football intelligence that he has — to be able to learn this stuff and be able to go out and execute it. So it’s just been so impressive watching him work and I think he’s just gotten better and better each week, kind of getting more and more into the groove of things and understanding this offense."

Beckham had his best performance, to date, with the Rams when he tallied nine receptions for 113 yards in the NFC Championship win over the San Francisco 49ers on Jan. 30. As of early Monday evening, FanDuel Sportsbook listed Beckham at +2500 to win Super Bowl Most Valuable Player honors, while Kupp was +550.
