Could Steelers land draft's 'best' off-ball linebacker?

The Steelers rebuilt their inside linebacker room through free agency but are they done adding to the room with the 2023 NFL Draft right around the corner?

Many teams around the league believe Arkansas's Drew Sanders is the "best" off-ball linebacker in the draft and several scouts think he could slip into the second round.

It's unlikely Pittsburgh would select Sanders at pick No. 17 in the first round. However, if he falls to the second round like some are predicting, would the Steelers be able to pass on him?

Pittsburgh already signed free-agent linebackers Cole Holcomb and Elandon Roberts this offseason, but Sanders could certainly be the team's future at the position.

The Steelers needed an overhaul after the group didn't force a single takeaway in 2022. That's exactly what they've done, and Sanders could be the final stamp.

The 21-year-old ranks as Pro Football Focus' No. 54 overall prospect after posting 103 tackles, 9.5 sacks, three forced fumbles and one interception in 2022. "His range and ability to take on blocks shined," PFF writes.

With three picks in the top 50, Pittsburgh might just be able to land Sanders who may end up being one of the biggest steals of the draft.
