Cowboys Announce Roster Move Before Lions Game

The Dallas Cowboys have been on a hot streak in recent weeks. Dallas has won three games in a row against the Las Vegas Raiders, Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs after losing two straight previously. The Cowboys are now above .500 for the first time this season at 6-5-1.

Dallas' offense has been its biggest key to success recently, scoring at least 24 points in each of its last three games.

The Cowboys' defense was a big weakness for the team early in the year, but it has turned around its play during the winning streak. Despite this success, the defensive side for Dallas has seen several injuries lately.

Heading into Thursday night's game against the Detroit Lions , the Cowboys have one defensive player listed out in two-time Pro Bowl cornerback Trevon Diggs and two players listed as questionable in safety Malik Hooker and defensive end Jadeveon Clowney.

Clowney has played in nine of Dallas' 12 games so far in 2025. He totaled 27 tackles, four sacks and three pass breakups in those appearances. He is questionable for Thursday's game due to a hamstring injury.

To combat Clowney possibly not playing against the Lions, the Cowboys made a roster move on the defensive line.

Land has not played in a game for the Cowboys yet this season. The 25-year-old defensive end has 17 appearances in his NFL career, all of which came with the Indianapolis Colts in 2023 and 2024. He has totaled seven tackles with one sack during his professional tenure.

The Cowboys and Lions (7-5) are scheduled to kick off at 8:15 p.m. ET at Ford Field on Prime Video.
