Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs is on a record-setting streak right now, tallying six interceptions in the first five games of the season as no Cowboy has in 50 years.
The former Alabama product revealed after Sunday's 44-20 over the New York Giants he owes a lot of his success to college coach Nick Saban -- and to an incident in which Saban made him cry.
Diggs, now 24, recalled arriving at Alabama as a teenager with hopes of being a wide receiver like his older brother, Buffalo Bills WR Stefon. But Saban saw the younger Diggs' potential and decided he would be more dynamic on the defensive side of the football -- a decision that apparently brought Trevon to tears.
"I was hurt at first, honestly,” Diggs admitted. “I called my brother. I was crying."
Big brother Stefon opted for a motivational talk instead: "We've got to get to work."
When Alabama coach Nick Saban first told Trevon Diggs to move from WR to CB, he cried.

Now Trevon Diggs is in his second season at the NFL level and making his mark, even receiving comparisons to one of the Cowboys' all-time greatest players.
“Trevon reminds me a lot of a guy I played against and with, and that’s Deion Sanders.”

If Diggs keeps this streak going, he may be sending more "thank yous" Saban's way.
