The Dallas Cowboys have started the 2025 NFL regular season with a 1-2 record, and recently lost three-time All-Pro wide receiver CeeDee Lamb to a high-ankle sprain. The 26-year-old wide receiver who was drafted with the No. 17 pick in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft out of Oklahoma is expected to miss anywhere from three to four weeks.

Before suffering the ankle injury, which occurred in the first quarter of the Cowboys' 31-14 Week 3 loss to the Chicago Bears, Lamb had recorded 16 catches for 222 yards on the season. As first-year head coach, Brian Schottenheimer looked for more ways to get the four-time Pro Bowl receiver touches, he opted to line him at running back in order to spice things up. Instead, fans are now furious he took that risk.

When speaking to the media on Wednesday about the team's Week 4 game against the Green Bay Packers (2-1), Schottenheimer made it clear that he stilll has confidence in his squad despite missing Lamb.

According to ESPN's Todd Archer, Schottenheimer isn't phased about losing Lamb or offensive lineman Tyler Booker.

"We’re good enough to beat the Packers without CeeDee Lamb and Tyler Booker,” Schottenheimer said.

While the head coach has to say this to save face, the Cowboys have gone 0-3 without Lamb playing, dating back to the 2021 season.

It's not shocking to see the team has struggled without Lamb who led the NFL in catches in 2023, and has racked up 512 catches for 6,561 yards and 38 touchdowns over the course of his career.

Sunday's game will kick off at 8:20 p.m. Et and will air on NBC.
