Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys had hinted at a major move being worked on prior to the 2025 NFL draft. It finally happened when the team pulled off a major trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers to bring in dynamic young wide receiver George Pickens.
Pickens has a chance to elevate the Cowboys' offense in a big way. As the No. 2 weapon behind CeeDee Lamb, the former Georgia Bulldogs' standout could be in line for a career season catching passes from Dak Prescott.
Dallas missed the playoffs during the 2024 NFL season. With the moves the Cowboys have made this offseason, it's clear that Jones has no interest in seeing the same result in 2025.
Shortly after being traded to Dallas, Pickens spoke out and revealed his thoughts about his new quarterback, as shared by Jon Machota of The Athletic.
"Just watching his game over the years, he's a very prolific QB," Pickens said. "Smart QB. I'm just glad to be working with him."
During the 2024 NFL season with the Steelers, Pickens put together another solid year. He played in 14 games, catching 59 passes for 900 yards and three touchdowns.
Throughout his young career, the 24-year-old wideout has shown the potential of being a legitimate No. 1 wideout. Now, he'll have an opportunity to take advantage of opposing defenses having to focus aggressive on slowing down Lamb.
Add in the fact that Pickens is playing with the best quarterback he's played with in the NFL and everything adds up to what could very well be a big-time year for him with his new squad.
