FRISCO - George Pickens has now been involved in two trades this offseason.
First it was the one that sent shockwaves through the NFL and sent him from the Pittsburgh Steelers to the Dallas Cowboys to create an exciting offensive trio with quarterback Dak Prescott and receiver co-star CeeDee Lamb.
Cowboys fans have been itching to see the duo on the field together, with pictures from media availability at OTAs being their only resort.
Pickens first hit the grass wearing No. 13 in the silver and blue, one digit off from the No. 14 jersey he wore for three seasons in Pittsburgh.
We were diligent in reminding the viewers that number assignments at these preliminary practices could still be changed before training camp.
That caution came to light as Pickens made a switch on Tuesday or the third and final media day at The Star during OTAs.

Pickens dropped half of his original practice number and rocked No. 3 in what could be his new number long-term.
Many fans, of course, wondered if he would bring over his No. 14, but that number is reserved to defensive back Markquese Bell who returns to the team from last year.
Funny enough, another player returned to Dallas this offseason in Dante Fowler Jr., the edge rusher who spent two seasons with the Cowboys before playing last season with the Washington Commanders. Fowler was originally issued No. 3 after he signed this offseason.
Now it appears he was swapped with Pickens' old No. 13. The two each have their new digits officially set on the DallasCowboys.com roster.

As it sometimes is, Pickens could have paid Fowler to hand over the rights to No. 3. Or they two could have did an old-fashioned swap.
But now that that is all settled, Pickens, Fowler and the rest of the new crop of Cowboys look to continue getting acclimated at OTAs before mandatory minicamps commence with the entire squad next week.
