Cowboys Legend Troy Aikman Reveals 'Shock' Regarding Micah Parsons Contract Problem

The Dallas Cowboys and Micah Parsons contract standoff continues with reportedly no talks between the two parties, even after Micah's trade request.

With reports flying around the Micah and Jerry could be heading for "divorce," this scenario is getting uglier and uglier the longer it goes, with many wondering exactly what is holding things up.

Some have asked what leverage Micah has given the Cowboys, if they want, could have contractual control for the next three years (2025 contract, two franchise tags).

Well, Cowboys legend and Hall of Famer Troy Aikman knows precisely what sort of leverage Micah has.

"His leverage is they can’t win without him," Aikman said on Monday Night Football. "Without Micah Parsons, I just don’t think they’re going to be able to slow anybody down. Now what are the Cowboys going to do? You think I know the answer to that? But the longer they wait, the price just continues to go up for Micah Parsons."

The front office knew the longer they waited, the more it would cost, but that didn't deter them in the negotiations for Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb, so this isn't their first rodeo.

As far as Micah's trade request, the Green Bay Packers have reportedly been interested, but so far, Dallas has no desire to trade its best player.

But for Aikman, while thinking a trade might be difficult, he still believes in his silver and blue heart that No. 11 will get the contract he deserves.

“What could they get for him if they were to trade him? It’s hard to imagine what they might be able to get for him," Aikman added. "I mean he is a generational talent. He’s a total game-wrecker and he’s proven that. They’ll get something done, is what I expect. I’d be shocked if they don’t prior to the season.”

We still believe he will get his deal done, too, Troy, but the longer this saga goes, that belief dwindles and with divorce talk, and not even a single conversation had, we wonder if Dallas even wants Micah on the team.

Because everything right now, is pointing to a rather ugly outcome.
