The Dallas Cowboys appear to be on the verge of making their first interview to find the team's next head coach. Dallas faces some logisitcal challenges in the team's coaching search.
If the Cowboys want to interview Detroit Lions coordinators Ben Johnson or Aaron Glenn, the franchise will have to wait until their season ends. A Lions run to the Super Bowl would mean this could not take place until Feb.
For now, the Cowboys are exploring individuals with head coaching experience. Dallas has requested to interview former New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
"The Cowboys have interest in and are expected to interview former Jets coach Robert Saleh for the vacant head coach position, source said," Rapoport detailed in a Wednesday message on X. "Would be their first known request."

Two other names the Cowboys have been linked to are Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore and Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders. ESPN's Adam Schefter revealed that Coach Prime has had a conversation with owner Jerry Jones about the opening, but this does not count as a formal interview.
Athlon Sports also recently broke down the latest NFL rumor linking the Cowboys to USC Trojans head coach Lincoln Riley.
