One thing we know about Dallas Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer is that he likes to have fun, but Micah Parsons had some fun at his coach's expense this week.
In what is now a viral TikTok trend, people ring their friends or family and say "goodnight," with Micah doing it to a host of players, including Tyler Smith, Osa Odighizuwa, and others, which also included Schottenheimer.
Micah's teammates were heard laughing and joking, but Schottenheimer took it seriously, not knowing it was a TikTok trend.
As minicamp began at The Star, Schotty knows that Parsons got him good.
“Well I was really kind of pissed off at my kids to be honest with you,” Schottenheimer said with a smile. “I called my son Sutton, and I said buddy, you got to look out for dad, I don't look at these, I don't know these things. But I just thought he missed me. I literally was like that's cool man guy reached out to check in see what's going on, then I saw, I was like damn fell for it. I don't do much of that social media stuff, but he got me pretty good.”
So Schotty knows he fell victim to a social media prank, and while it might seem trivial, the fact that Micah can call up his head coach ay any time and he's ready to talk football or business as Brian did with Parsons' contract shows the level of chemistry and the relationships he's building.
Now, knowing that Schottenheimer likes to have fun and joke around, we imagine that he might try to get Micah back at some point this offseason. However, the culture that Schotty is building was on full display in Parsons' video, as he was comfortable enough to call his head coach and play a prank on him.
Yes, it was all in great fun, and at the expense of his head coach, but everything this offseason for the Cowboys has been fun.
Even if it's at the expense of Schottenheimer.
