Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones Makes Stunning Admission About Stirring up Controversy

Jerry Jones is approaching 40 years of ownership with the Dallas Cowboys, but the storied franchise hasn’t even been to a conference championship in the past 30 years, let alone win a Super Bowl.

There are multiple contributors to that drought, but the main culprit could be attributed to the notorious owner’s unique style of conducting business.

The first example came in the 1990s when Jones pushed out Hall of Fame head coach Jimmy Johnson by under mining his authority and taking more control of the team.

We can also see examples from just this month, with Jones seemingly poking the bear that is Micah Parsons, perhaps the most talented edge rusher in the league who is desperate to be paid by Dallas.

He has been held out of practice with a “back injury,” which Jones himself has admitted is likely just a negotiation tactic. One could ask themselves why a team would drag out a contract dispute with a player who overwhelmingly deserves it. Well, Jones has an answer for you.

During a recent interview, the Cowboys’ owner said the team is a  “soap opera 365 days a year,” before admitting to purposely stirring up controversy.

Jones has been accused of prioritizing interest and revenue over a solid product on the field and this interview just confirms it. He has a history of mismanaging contracts and hiring coaches who won’t question his authority so he can have ultimate power over the team.

If you are a Cowboys fan, the last thing you want to hear from your owner is that a Super Bowl ring is not the most important thing to him. The team is certainly talented enough to make some noise in the playoffs, but they’ll have an added hurdle to overcome in the form of their own owner.
