The Dallas Cowboys went 12-4 during the 2021 NFL season but then fell to the San Francisco 49ers in a one-and-done home playoff game and have since underwhelmed fans with a lackluster offseason that has involved trading wide receiver Amari Cooper to the Cleveland Browns and losing receiver Cedrick Wilson Jr. and defensive end Randy Gregory to free agency.
For the first time under the league's new 17-game format, the Cowboys will have nine home regular-season contests on their schedule for 2022 and, thus, are raising their ticket prices.
Clarence E. Hill Jr. of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports that the per-game average ticket price for Cowboys home matchups is increasing in some instances by 20% compared to the 2021 season. For example, end-zone seats that cost $140 in 2021 are now set at $170. One season-ticket holder told Hill two seats that cost that person $2,700, total, for 2021 are now running for $3,250.
A Cowboys spokesman declined to comment.
As noted by the club's website, Dallas will host the Philadelphia Eagles, New York Giants and Washington Commanders as part of its annual division schedule and will also welcome the Chicago Bears, Cincinnati Bengals, Detroit Lions, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts and Tampa Bay Buccaneers to town during the upcoming season.
Dates and times for those matchups will be unveiled as part of the league's full schedule release later this spring.
