Cowboys Rookie Expected To 'Exceed Expectations' In 2025

Under Brian Schottenheimer, the Dallas Cowboys will emphasize the run game heavily in 2025, and this might have a lot to do with rookie Jaydon Blue.

With a running back room that has Miles Sanders and Javonte Williams as the veterans, both are plodding-type backs, whereas Blue, who boasts a 4.38 40-yard dash, is seen as the lightning that can ignite one of the worst run games in football last season.

But that is provided Blue even makes the team (we think he will). With Sanders, Williams, and even fellow rookie Phil Mafah on the roster, the Cowboys have a couple of avenues to explore when it comes to scheming their run game.

However, Blue feels like he could be set for a big role in 2025, and Pro Football Network has named him as one rookie who could exceed expectations this season.

"Jaydon Blue brings explosive, big-play potential to the Cowboys’ backfield and could become a dynamic weapon in a complementary role," Pro Football Network writes. "Though he never served as Texas’ primary back, Blue consistently flashed high-level speed, agility, and receiving upside that make him an intriguing fit in today’s NFL.
