Although Dallas Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones didn't provide anything overwhelmingly optimistic about contract talks with CeeDee Lamb, he did give fans at least a glimmer of positivity on Thursday.
Lamb is holding out from the team's training camp in Oxnard, California, but his representatives have been going back and forth with the Cowboys, according to Jones. While speaking with the media, Jones revealed the two sides have exchanged "numerous" contract offers, with both sides sending deals, according to The Athletic's Jon Machota.

Obviously, the team and its fanbase would prefer to see Lamb on the field sooner rather than later. But with the Cowboys star likely to receive a deal making him the highest-paid wide receiver in the NFL (or very close to it), the negotiations could likely be ongoing for a bit longer.
The Cowboys just kicked off training camp on Thursday, and practices will run through August 21. It would be a major surprise if the two sides don't come to an agreement with some time to spare ahead of the season. But how far apart they are in negotiations could be a factor, so it'll be a wait-and-see game for all those on the outside looking in.
