The Dallas Cowboys have a lot to be excited about as they usher in the Brian Schottenheimer Era. Signing Micah Parsons to a contract is extension is first on the 'Boys list, but they also have to figure out what to do with the first pick of the NFL Draft later this month.
Kyle Brandt, a co-host of "Good Morning Football" made a projection of what the Cowboys may do in the first round.
Brandt projects the Cowboys to move up from the No. 12 position in the first round. He projects them to select the top running back in the draft, Boise State's Ashton Jeanty.
The Cowboys and the fanbase both want Jeanty and would not be able to stomach seeing him go to another team. The Las Vegas Raiders have a big interest in Jeanty as well and they select at No. 6. Dallas would have to select before the Raiders.
Dallas might wait until the last minute to sign their star players to extensions, but they will have to make a move with their draft pick before the draft if they are going to do it.
Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones might not have the patience to wait until the night of the draft to jump up and select the running back he covets. He could look to trade picks in the coming days to be positioned for success.
The question is when Jones pulls the rip cord on the trade and gets into a spot where the can Jeanty before the Raiders.
