The Dallas Cowboys and Seattle Seahawks will meet twice at Lumen Field this season on August 15 and December 7. But fans looking to attend the two games face dramatically different prices.

Ticketmaster listings, the official ticket sellers of the NFL, checked Tuesday showed that tickets for Saturday’s preseason matchup between the Cowboys and Seahawks were available for as little as $48.40, including fees but before taxes. The regular-season meeting in December, meanwhile, had tickets starting at $84.70 in the listings reviewed.

The preseason game is scheduled for Saturday, August 15, at 5 p.m. ET at Lumen Field in Seattle. Several of the cheapest available tickets were listed as verified resale tickets in upper-level sections, including Sections 309, 338, 312, 315, 341 and 328.

Ticketmaster’s August 11 snapshot showed the cheapest preseason tickets concentrated in the upper level, with prices varying by section and seat location.

  • Section 309: $48.40
  • Section 338: $48.40
  • Section 312: $48.40
  • Section 315: $48.40
  • Section 341: $48.40
  • Section 328: $48.40
  • Sections 305, 311, and 316: Approximately $50.82 to $52.03
  • Several other upper-level sections: Approximately $53 to $55 and up

Ticketmaster’s displayed prices include fees but not taxes, so the final amount a fan pays can be higher. The much bigger difference becomes apparent when looking at the Cowboys’ regular-season trip to Seattle.

Dallas will return to Lumen Field on December 7 at 5:15 p.m. ET for a Monday night matchup with the Seahawks. In the Ticketmaster snapshot reviewed, the lowest-priced ticket listed was $84.70 in Section 204, Row S.

The regular-season resale market showed a considerably wider price range, particularly for lower-level and premium seating.

  • Section 204: $84.70
  • Section 214: $90.75
  • Section 229: $104.06
  • Section 230: $121.00
  • Section 204: $133.10 and up, depending on the row
  • Sections 215 and 130: Approximately $145 and up
  • Sections 131, 114, and 138: Approximately $160 to $181 and up
  • Lower-level sections: Approximately $200 to $250+ for some listings
  • Club sections: Approximately $300 to $580+
  • Club Section 235: $302.50 to $580.80 in the listings reviewed

Prices climbed quickly from there.

Several regular-season tickets were listed above $100, while many lower-level options were priced between $140 and $250. Premium club tickets were substantially more expensive, with some listings exceeding $500.

Why are the ticket prices so different for Cowboys vs Seahawks

The gap illustrates the difference in demand between a preseason game and a regular-season matchup.

Saturday’s contest is primarily an opportunity for players to compete for roster spots and playing time before the regular season begins. The December meeting, on the other hand, will count toward the Cowboys’ regular-season record and could carry significant playoff implications depending on how the season develops.

That difference is reflected in the ticket market.

For fans simply looking to see the Cowboys play in Seattle, the preseason provides a cheaper opportunity. A $48.40 starting price is considerably easier to swallow than the prices attached to many of the regular-season seats.

But Cowboys fans should keep in mind that these are resale-market prices and can change at any time. Ticket availability, demand and the proximity to kickoff can all affect the price. The figures above represent a Ticketmaster snapshot taken on Aug. 11, rather than guaranteed prices for the games.

The two matchups also offer an interesting contrast for Dallas fans. The Cowboys will get their first taste of Lumen Field this weekend before returning to Seattle in December for the game that actually counts.

For anyone considering the trip, the difference is already clear: Cowboys-Seahawks tickets start at below $50 for the preseason, while the regular-season matchup commands significantly more.
