Cowboys WR Michael Gallup suffers torn ACL in Week 17 loss to Cardinals

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Gallup was ruled out of the team's Week 17 contest against the Arizona Cardinals within minutes of coming off of the field following his second quarter touchdown catch. Following the team's 25-22 loss, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones announced some dire news regarding the fourth-year pro.

Dallas trailed 22-7 heading into the fourth quarter on Sunday, but thanks in part to a two-yard touchdown strike from Dak Prescott to Cedrick Wilson, the Cowboys nearly completed a big comeback. Gallup seemed to be in high spirits after the injury, taking to social media to show his excitement after Wilson's score.

Gallup finished the game with three receptions for 36 yards and the score -- his second on the season -- on four targets. He now has 35 catches for 445 receiving yards in his nine games played this year.

The 25-year-old missed seven games earlier this season after suffering a calf injury in Week 1.
