Minnesota Vikings legend Cris Carter spoke out about this situation. He focused on how the drama has affected Russini much more than it has affected Vrabel. He said that the situation was a well-known secret in NFL circles.

“No one was surprised by the information,” Carter said.

Carter argued that it was unfair that Russini’s career was on the line while Vrabel had yet to face any type of consequence.

“It’s more related to her and her career, not his,” Carter said. “We have football coaches that are unfaithful. Like, that’s not going to get a football coach fired… The only reason [her life is altered] is because she’s a female. This is a male-dominated world.”

He said that Patriots owner Robert Kraft won’t change anything about the coach, unlike Russini, who has faced stronger criticism and left her job as an insider at one of the biggest sports media outlets.
