NBC's Cris Collinsworth is one of the best color commentators we have in our game. And after several decades in the business, the ex-Pro Bowl receiver celebrated a very special milestone on Sunday.

On the call of Week 12's primetime game between the Bucs and Rams, Collinsworth took part in his 500th NFL broadcast — 402 of which have come with the Peacock, along with 64 appearances on FOX and another 22 working for the NFL Network.

Collinsworth's career and impact over the years has been nothing short of impressive. And this weekend, he received some pretty cool shoutouts from some of his fellow broadcasting legends.

NFL broadcasters congratulate Cris Collinsworth on No. 500

In a video shared by "Sunday Night Football," Collinsworth received congratulations from the likes of Troy Aikman, Tom Hammond, Joe Buck and longtime partner Al Michaels on his remarkable and lengthy career.

"Congratulations on 500 broadcasts," Aikman said.

"Little did I know that you would become one of the all-time greats, which you are," Tom Hammond added.

"You are a fantastic broadcaster," Joe Buck exclaimed. "I can't think of anybody who loves covering football more than you."

"13 seasons, 263 games, four Super Bowls, a total blast. I want to congratulate you on 500 games. And here, my friend, to 500 more," Al Michaels toasted.

Collinsworth brings back iconic 'slide' during 500th broadcast

Of course, no Cris Collinsworth broadcast would be complete with "The Collinsworth Slide" at the beginning of the game — which the 66-year-old brought back for Sunday night's special milestone.

“And it’s a big night for us, too,” Tirico said prior to kickoff. “Because Mr. Sunday Night Football, Cris Collinsworth, celebrates his 500th game in the booth. So, why not slide in for old times’ sake?”

“There you go,” Collinsworth said after sliding into frame. “It’s a little harder than I remember it being,” he laughed.

Collinsworth was also gifted a cake and received a No. 500 jersey from Rams head coach Sean McVay on Friday. And with his contract with NBC running through the end of 2030, we'll be seeing plenty more of the brilliant football mind before he maybe calls it a career.
