Dallas Cowboys Quarterback Dak Prescott is reportedly glad a “solution” has been reached with former Cowboys teammate, Defensive End Micah Parsons. Here’s why Prescott, 32, appeared to be relieved for the end of the Parsons, 26, saga in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

Dak Prescott Glad “Solution” Reached with Micah Parsons

According to ESPN, Prescott didn’t think Parsons would be traded, but the move to the Green Bay Packers didn’t surprise Prescott either. Prescott said, “Just with the way the way the negotiations went down, obviously to some extent, I mean hell y’all were asking me questions, it seemed like it got personal on their end.”

Dak Prescott and Micah Parsons’ Respective Outlooks

Prescott wasn’t surprised by the Dallas Cowboys’ trade of Parsons. However, Prescott has bigger fish to fry. The Cowboys’ season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles is on Thursday at 8:30 p.m. Eastern. The Cowboys-Eagles game will be broadcast on NBC.

“I’m not going to say we’re better. We’ve got to go out there and prove it. We had to prove it even if he was on this team, so I’m not going to say that by any means,” Prescott said. “But I know what adding a guy like Kenny Clark, adding a true leader, a real man that’s going to only elevate this team, who’s been a Pro Bowl player and is excited about being here [means].

“I know our focus right now is Philly. I think that’s everybody’s focus in that locker room. I don’t think anybody’s hung up on [the Parsons trade]. As I’ve said, there’s enough news and enough media about it. I think as much as anything it’s good that a solution happened. Obviously, Micah got paid. He got paid very well and great for him and his family. And we’ll see him here in about a month.”

Parsons fits the Green Bay Packers’ defense. His defensive services can help the Packers. Last season, Green Bay’s defense looked good but had the potential to be great. The 26-year-old is one of the two best edge rushers in the NFL right now, generating pressure on 16.5% of his pass-rush snaps — above Myles Garrett’s 11.9%.

Final Thoughts

The Dallas Cowboys will open the 2025 NFL season against the Philadelphia Eagles in a Week 1 matchup. The Cowboys have a 25.1% chance of winning, while the Eagles have a 74.9% chance, at the time of writing.

The Cowboys and Green Bay Packers will meet in Week 4 on September 28 at 7:20 p.m. Eastern. The game will be broadcast on NBC. It is unclear if the Cowboys or Packers will win, but expect to see a slightly more intense and close game between the NFC foes.
