Dak Prescott Made Notable Change Before Cowboys-Eagles Game

Back in 2018, the Dallas Cowboys were off to a miserable start. After a home loss to the Titans in early November--a team that was only 3-4 entering the game at the time--the Cowboys found themselves in a 3-5 funk, putting their playoff hopes nearly out of reach.

So star quarterback Dak Prescott and running back Ezekiel Elliott put their heads together, trying to find a way to ignite themselves and the team. They came up with ... sleeves. Long ones.

And the Cowboys won. In fact, they won five games in a row and finished with seven wins in their last eight games to earn a postseason spot.

"We got to get something going, we need some new juju or something," Elliott said at the time, via the Dallas Morning News. "So we were like, 'Man, let's wear long sleeves this game.' That was that Philly game and that was the start of this win streak, so I think hopefully you'll be seeing long sleeves through the rest of the season."

Dak Prescott, Double-Sleeve Quarterback

Not just the rest of the season. Prescott stuck with the sleeves throughout the six years since. All throughout his career, as much as he has been known for his passing prowess and his inability to come through in the playoffs, Prescott has also been known as the sleeve-iest quarterback in the league.

It was a uniform violation according to the NFL, and both Prescott and Elliott endured weekly fines back in 2018. Since then, it had just become Prescott's "thing."

Until Thursday night, though. That's when Prescott unveiled a new look for this season: a one-sleeve uniform, as noted by the @FergSZN account on Twitter/X. "The single sleeve makes its debut tonight A new look for Prescott this season," the account noted.

Wardrobe Change for Cowboys

Prescott has not expounded on the reason for the change, but it might well have something to do with the miserable year Dallas put forth in 2024, when the Cowboys went from Super Bowl contenders to a 7-10 dumpster fire in which Prescott missed half the year with a torn hamstring.

The FergSZN account also pointed out, three months ago, that Prescott had been going with the one-sleeve look since OTAs.

It noted (via Reddit): "Dak has been showing us this one arm sleeve + dark visor look all OTA just to wear the double sleeves and clear visor come regular season."

Prescott is, in fact, going with the clear visor. But the double sleeves, it seems, are gone.
