Dak Prescott set for a big day, former first-round pick demoted again after Cowboys announce gameday inactives for Week 6

The Dallas Cowboys listed 18 players on their injury report ahead of Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers and now we know who will be active for the game. As every gameday, the Cowboys announced their inactives list 90 minutes before kickoff.

The good news? Dak Prescott will have a much healthier offensive line this time around. After missing four starters last week, two return to the field. Left tackle Tyler Guyton and left guard Tyler Smith are both active and expected to start. Against a Panthers' pass rush that ranks 32nd in the NFL, that will surely have an impact in the game.

Something to monitor could be backup Nate Thomas' snap count. He impressed in limited playing time and though he's not expected to bench Guyton, he did rotate with Terence Steele at right tackle for a series against the Green Bay Packers back in Week 4.

Full list of Cowboys inactives

  • WR CeeDee Lamb
  • RG Tyler Booker
  • WR KaVontae Turpin
  • LB Jack Sanborn
  • DT Mazi Smith
  • OL Ajani Cornelius

Other notes on Cowboys' Week 6 inactives

  • DT Jay Toia is set to play with former first-round draft pick Mazi Smith listed as a healthy scratch. Toia started the season above Smith in the depth chart, with Smith being a healthy scratch the first two weeks of the season. Now, Toia gets the nod over Smith again. The latter has struggled as a run defender.
  • With Miles Sanders landing on Injured Reserve, Jaydon Blue is active and has become the team's official RB2 behind Javonte Williams.
  • Once again, WR CeeDee Lamb, WR KaVontae Turpin, and RG Tyler Booker are inactive. The Cowboys signed former practice squad WR Jalen Cropper to the 53-man roster. He will likely be involved in special teams for the most part. The Cowboys also elevated veteran WR Parris Campbell.
  • With LB Jack Sanborn ruled out, the Cowboys have LB Damone Clark active once again despite him being a Week 4 healthy scratch. Though he's been seemingly demoted by fifth-round rookie Shemar James, Clark is apparently getting another chance.
