The Dallas Cowboys just beat the rest of the NFL to an important offseason task that's on everyone's plates this time of the year as they're the first team in the league to sign their first-round pick out of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Offensive lineman Tyler Booker—who has been in the Dallas area since his draft prep work and reported Friday to rookie minicamp—is officially on the books.

According to Jordan Schultz from FOX, the deal is worth $22.5 million and includes a $13 million signing bonus. Like every deal for a player selected in the first round of the NFL Draft, it's a four-year contract with a fifth-year option.

Though the news was expected to happen at some point of the off´

season, it's good to know the Cowboys were swift about it given their high expectations for the player out of Alabama.

The Cowboys haven't been shy about their stance on Booker being an immediate starter for them and now actions speak for themselves. Booker is projected to start at right guard following Zack Martin's retirement.

For now, Booker is admittedly focusing on mastering the playbook to avoid slowing down the offense. But his focus on learning the game fast also reflects his desire to earn a leadership role in the locker room and do so quickly.

"First and foremost, when it comes to leadership, you have to earn the right to lead," Booker said during his introductory press conference. "That's what I'll be looking forward to do first, when you earn the right to lead by being a producer on the field, by doing everything right off the seat, and being somebody that your teammates love, trust, and, most importantly, respect."

With his first NFL contract out of the way, Tyler Booker can now focus on football and only football. September can't get here quick enough.
