Before they head into training camp for the 2025 Dallas Cowboys season, defensive players Micah Parsons and Osa Odighizuwa gave back to the community through football camps.
In a report by KATU 2’s Guillermo Morta, Odighizuwa returned to his alma mater, Portland’s David Douglas High School, for a free football camp. Joining him to mentor the young athletes is Indianapolis Colts defensive and fellow David Douglas alum Samson Ebukam.
Odighizuwa was a two-time defensive player of the year and PrepStar All-West recipient during his time with the Scots. After dominating Oregon high school football, he attended UCLA, which he represented in football, wrestling, and track and field. He received a First-Team All-Pac-12 selection in his final year with the Bruins.
Then, the Dallas Cowboys selected him in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He continues to play for the team, especially after signing a four-year, $80-million contract extension last March. As he reaped the rewards of his hard work, Odighizuwa emphasized giving back during his youth football camp.
Meanwhile, Micah Parsons will have his youth football camp for athletes up to 16 years old on June 17 at Lubbock Christian High School. However, unlike Odighizuwa’s camp, Everything Lubbock’s Urijah Jaushlin reported that participants must pay a $165 fee. The payment gets the youth football player a camp-exclusive shirt, a team photo with Parsons, and items from the camp’s sponsors.
In addition to lectures, Parsons’ camp will also feature competitive stations and sessions on fundamental football skills. This camp is a wonderful opportunity for young football athletes to learn from a four-time Pro Bowl defensive end.
Likewise, this Dallas Cowboys edge rusher has two First-Team and one Second-Team All-Pro selection in his first three NFL seasons. While originally from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Parsons gives back to the people that support the Cowboys through this camp.
