The Dallas Cowboys and owner Jerry Jones made the shocking move to trade superstar pass rusher Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers just ahead of the 2025 NFL season.
It was a move that no one saw coming. Parsons had been mentioned in trade rumors throughout the offseason, but everyone still thought he would end up getting a deal done with the Cowboys. Obviously, that was not in the cards.
Jones decided to cut his losses and trade Parsons in exchange for two first-round picks and star defensive tackle Kenny Clark. Now, heading into Week 4 action on Sunday Night Football against the Packers, his team is set to face off against Parsons for the first time.
There are going to be a lot of emotions throughout the game. Parsons will be looking to make a statement to Jones and Dallas for trading him away. As for the Cowboys, they’ll be looking to prove that Parsons was not their main reason for being competitive.
All of that being said, Jones spoke out with some strong words about his team playing against Parsons.
As the two teams gear up for what should be a very entertaining showdown, Jones spoke out about Parsons being on the other side of the game playing against his team.
“Of course, I’ve said this time and time again, I think the world of Micah as an individual and of course know him well,” Jones said. “I might say I wish him well — except it’s obvious I don’t this weekend, in terms of Green Bay winning the ball game.”
Also, it has been decided by Jones that Dallas will not be giving Parsons a tribute video. That will simply add more fuel to the fire for the superstar pass rusher to get back at his former team on the field.
Parsons recently spoke out and spoke out about sacking Dak Prescott.
“It’s going to be painful,” Parsons said. “That’s my guy. He was always like a good mentor for me. But you know how it is. He always told me if I ever faced him that it’ll be a great matchup, so I’m excited to see what Sunday brings itself.”
Expect to see both teams bring a little bit extra on Sunday Night Football. Jones and the Cowboys are ready for the challenge, but it will be interesting to see if Parsons ends up getting the last laugh against them.
