The Dallas Cowboys had a flyover at their training camp practice on Thursday afternoon to honor Heroes Appreciation Day. The flyover took place as the Cowboys were about to start practice.
The Cowboys have their training camp practices in Oxnard, California. On Thursday, the team hosted Heroes Appreciation Day to show their appreciation for military personnel and first responders. Heroes who wore their military or first responder uniform or showed their military ID received free general admission parking at camp and two reserved spots on the sideline VIP structure to view practice.

Thursday’s practice was the final one before the team takes a day off on Friday. They will then have an open practice on Aug. 2 before having another off day on Sunday, Aug. 3. The Cowboys will practice again on Monday, Aug. 4 and will then have a scrimmage against the Los Angeles Rams on Tuesday, Aug. 5. On Saturday, Aug. 9, Dallas will have their first preseason game against the Rams.
A player to watch during Cowboys training camp is quarterback Dak Prescott, who is entering his 10th season. In November, Prescott suffered a hamstring injury and missed the rest of the season.
“I think first and foremost, it was about getting healthy,” Prescott said this week, per Tommy Yarrish of DallasCowboys.com. “And once I got healthy, I could see progress. And it was about pushing myself each and every day, and I see a guy who is going into year 10, much better than he was last year, the year before that, or I’ve ever been.”
Prescott also talked about feeling young despite being the third-oldest player on the team. “Just with the experience of this game, having the teammates and the players that I have around me, getting into a new year with a new coach and a new energy with such a youthful team, I see somebody who feels young again,” Prescott said.
“Excited as hell for not only this offense but this team and the direction we’re going and what we can do, and a team that’s not going to have to look in the mirror much as we start this thing, and we’re going to just have to look forward and make sure that we just remind ourselves of our goal and keep that in our mind.”
