Dan Campbell compares Jared Goff to NFL legend

Detroit Lions’ QB1 Jared Goff has earned plenty of praise from head coach Dan Campbell during their time together.

Now, Campbell has taken that praise a step further by comparing one of Goff’s most important traits to an NFL legend.

Speaking with Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer, Campbell pointed to Goff’s processing speed and his ability to remain accurate when facing pressure. He believes those qualities remind him of former New Orleans Saints star Drew Brees.

Campbell said:

“His processing speed reminds me of [Drew] Brees. He sees it, he sees it. And every year it’s gotten faster and faster. And then watch him under duress. Nobody makes a more accurate throw under duress than Jared Goff.”

The comparison carries some weight given Campbell’s history with Brees. Before becoming the Lions’ head coach, he spent five seasons with the Saints as an assistant head coach and tight ends coach, giving him a close look at the NFL legend.
