Dan Orlovsky left fans wondering whether his time at ESPN had come to an end after his final appearance on First Take during the NFL season.

"I'm taking a break, won't be on TV for a long time," Orlovsky said in February. "Never know what the future holds but I'm taking a break."

So, did that mean his time at ESPN was over?

The answer is no based on the latest report.

The Athletic's Andrew Marchand revealed on Tuesday that Orlovsky is expected to re-sign with ESPN as a "prominent football analyst." The deal hasn't been signed yet, but has been agreed upon.

Marchard added that "ESPN declined to comment on Orlovsky’s expected re-signing."

Prior to this, he was talking to CBS to take over for Gary Danielson on the Big Ten broadcasts.

But instead, Orlovsky will remain a prominent figure on NFL Live, along with make appearances at times on "Monday Night Football" and some other talk shows for the network.

He first joined ESPN in 2018, transitioning to broadcasting after a 12-year NFL career. He began his playing career with the Detroit Lions, being drafted in the fifth round of the 2005 NFL Draft. He had stints with the Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, before returning to the Lions again. He signed with the Los Angeles Rams briefly ahead of the 2017 season, but ultimately announced his retirement in October.
