Daniel Jones gives promising update ahead of training camp

The Indianapolis Colts were playing like one of the best teams in the NFL last season before quarterback Daniel Jones went down with a broken leg and Achilles injury.

Not much was known about the return timeline for Jones, and he cleared the air on that topic Monday on "The Pat McAfee Show."

Daniel Jones is cleared and ready to participate

According to Jones, he has been fully cleared and will be in attendance and participating when Indianapolis opens training camp on Wednesday.

"I'm feeling really good and I'm going to be full go to start training camp," Jones told the show. "The plan is to be back in 11-on-11, full team drills when we start on Wednesday. I'm ready to go."

Daniel Jones was having a stellar season

Prior to injuries derailing his 2025 season, Jones was right in the thick of MVP conversations. Through 13 games, Jones had thrown for 3,101 yards and 19 touchdowns with a 68% completion rate.

On the ground, he added 164 yards and five touchdowns. Jones was a major reason the Colts began the season 8-2 and his injury ultimately derailed their playoff hopes.

Can Daniel Jones return to his 2025 form?

Coming back from both a broken leg and Achilles are no easy tasks, so Jones' health throughout the season will be something to monitor.

If he is able to maintain his health and return to his pre-injury 2025 form, Jones and Indianapolis would be in an excellent position to reach the playoffs for the first time since the 2020 season.
