Indiana Jones is for real. Daniel Jones has looked like a completely different player since he joined Shane Steichen's squad, and the Indianapolis Colts are now a perfect 3-0.
They kept the foot on the gas by taking down the Tennessee Titans in an easy 41-20 divisional win on Sunday. The Colts have been arguably the best offensive team in the NFL this season. As a matter of fact, they're already off to a better start than any team led by Peyton Manning.
According to NFL.com researcher Dante Koplowitz-Fleming, the league-leading 103 points the Colts have scored are more than any Manning-led team ever scored through the first three games of any season. That's not all. Per Koplowitz-Fleming, they've had fewer punts (one) through three games than any other team in the Super Bowl era.
So far, Jones has completed 71.6 percent of his passes for 816 yards and three touchdowns. He also has 17 carries for 55 yards and three touchdowns. The Colts play in one of the weakest divisions in the league, so they should be a lock to make the playoffs. More than that, Jones has been arguably the best or second-best quarterback in the league so far this season, and he's a legitimate MVP candidate right now.
Ironically, Jones' former team, the New York Giants, is 0-3 and has the same offensive issues it had before giving up on its former first-round pick. How far Jones can take the Colts amid this hot start will be one of the most intriguing storylines moving forward.
